This 3rd set includes the escapade we made to the Waipio Valley, on the northern end of the island.
Some of the pictures before are from the way up to the valley. This is a place I would recommend to anyone going on vacation to Hawaii and is one of main reason why you NEED to rent a Jeep when you get there for vacation.
Ok, if you ever have the chance to go on a trip like this, you have to take it.
Hawaii’s reputation is well known. But I have to tell you, it is not known well!
This place has a misplaced reputation of costing lots of money to go to. Well, if you’re into “all inclusive” and such, it’s true. Not my case.
Hotel (regular 3*) + flight cost me roughly 1300$ US. We were there for 12 days. Add approximately 700$ (divided by the amount of ppl on the trip) for a Jeep rental lasting the whole trip. So, less than 2k for a trip of a lifetime, full liberty of movement to go everywhere we want, whenever we want.
So with this set of photo articles, I’ll try and share with you the experience I had that was visually out of this world and that I still dream about to this day!
In this set, you’ll see the Honolulu airport, some photos around the hotel where we stayed in Hilo, downtown Hilo and some parks, the zoo and the Jeep that took us everywhere!
